WHAT TO EXPECT
Every family is different and every pet is unique so I always try to make every session just as special. Together we will choose a location with beautiful scenery and a dynamic layout that will allow us to capture a variety of images for you to choose from. We will create fun action shots, beautiful portraits and some natural candid moments with your entire family.

How long are sessions? Our smallest session length is 30 minutes and full sessions take around 90 minutes. However, we know sometimes our pets (and small kids) need a bit of extra time and attention so we will work around their pace.

My pet may not sit still for photos. What should we do?Being in front of a camera can be stressful for some people and pets are no exception. I will adapt my approach to suit your animal's needs which may involve toys, treats, sounds (or silence), shooting further away (different lenses) or sometimes they just need a bit of extra time. We will figure out what they need and work with them.
-
What do session fees include? The session fee covers the photoshoot itself and a select number of digital files. Fees do not include prints or products, these can be purchased separately after you've had a chance to choose your favourite images.

Are all sessions outdoors?I believe that the best photographs come from letting people just be themselves and our pets are no exception. I like to avoid stressful posing, bright lights/flashes and other things that may make them uncomfortable. I find I get the best results when pets are outdoors (or in their element) just loving life. With that being said, if you would like to do a shoot indoors with just your "human" family I have worked in various studios around the Barrie area so we could definitely set something up.

What is there is bad weather? If the weather isn’t great, we will definitely reschedule (there is no rescheduling fee). Rescheduling does happen fairly frequently in some seasons (i.e. Spring rain and Winter snowstorms), so I just ask for your patience in finding the next available time/date.

I've never had professional photos taken of me. Any tips?I know that you might be feeling nervous about getting in front of the camera, even I feel that way when it's my turn. But I really do believe that having cherished family photos is such an important thing. Throughout the session we will work together and find a way to make you, your family and your pets all feel comfortable. I will help to gently guide everyone through different natural poses and also capture some candid moments. So just come as you are and put your trust in me. I promise you, after the first few clicks of the camera you will forget you were even nervous at all!

What should we wear?I am all about coming as you are but family photos do tend to look better when there is cohesion. Neutral tones/colours always work best together so try to stick to one colour palette and avoid anything that is too bright, vibrant or overly patterned. I am also not a big fan of pets in costumes, they tend to make them uncomfortable/stressed and it often makes it difficult to photograph their true character. That being said if there is a bandana or smaller item you'd like them to wear (especially if you're all matching) then please bring it with you and we can get a few shots of them in it.
